Last friday, we invited nationally renowned artist Julian Correa into Jake’s Cafe on a very exciting assignment. A 40 ft spray-canned graffit illustration at the heart of Jake's Cafe Creative Community.
The concept was designed by Blaine Huber of Huber Creative. While Jullian’s work beautifully bridges the gap between urban and commercial art in this 3D illustration that blurs the boundaries between foreground and background, it does something even more important for our members. It grants permission to create, and it could not have been summed up any better than in these accompanying words of Blaine Huber from Huber Creative.
“This is not a wall. A wall is what you make it. We decided to make this a not wall. Walls divide. This not wall does not divide. It unites. Supports. It is a bridge. A sounding board. A canvas. A 40 foot living testimonial. A nine foot exclamation point. Exploration point. Inspiration point. And here at Jake’s Cafe, providing the space to CREATE is pretty much the whole point. So we invite you to help us. Join the wall. Build the bridge. Adorn the canvas. Go ahead, write on. Right on. Make something. Make art. Make an image. Make a statement. Make an impression. Make a promise. Make us think. Make someone smile. Make magic. Make believe. Make a difference.” - Blaine Huber
