On August 16th, Larshelby (Schel) Kidd of VNO Discoveries hosted a special event for Jake's Cafe members. Artist, Christy Wynveen, joined Schel and brought to our members a new pairing for the palate: Painting and Wine!
Their journey began with a brief lesson on tasting wine with Schel and continued with a hands-on exploration of acrylic painting of Van Gogh's "Starry Night". Each guest received their own 6”x6” canvas to paint as Christy demonstrated and guided Jake's members from a blank canvas to a completed painting. By the end of the evening, members enjoyed a nice selection of Wisconsin wines and created their own Van Gogh to take home! The event proved to be a great team building exercise as well as a way for Cafe members to enter a new zone of creativity. The work above was produced by Cafe member Blaine Huber and was one of 12 paintings produced that evening. The other paintings are on display in Jake's Lounge.
