May 27, High Noon. Brainstorming! Jake's Cafe member Blaine Huber of Huber Creative will lead Brainstorming 101, the third in a series of brainstorming sessions designed to help cafe members develop their creative collaboration skills for future projects with outside clients. This week features Miguel Guevara, a specialist in Change Management. He is going to discuss how to address some of the hurdles our potential clients will face and must overcome in order to best use the brainstorming product we offer. This will be a keen insight into how good ideas can sometimes die on the internal corporate vine, and ways to help avoid such a fate.

Road In The Middle of A Fork! Sometimes you just have to look at things a little differently. This sculpture is a collaboration between Jake's Cafe, The Sign Shop and Brantmeier Ford. It will be donated to the Meals On Wheels "Junepalooza" Charity event scheduled at the Christopher Farms estate this summer.

Jake’s Cafe Internship Program

Lakeshore Technical College and Lakeland College sponsor interns at Jake's Cafe. Their offices are situated in the Jake's Cafe church sanctuary. We encourage our members to use them for a variety of reasons.

First, it gives our interns the opportunity to become part of the Jake's Cafe collaborative process while giving them experience with a wide variety of businesses to put on their resumes. The program has been highly successful and we have a 100% placement rate.

Second, it paves the way for them to start businesses of their own…either in or outside the cafe.

The intern's space/expenses are sponsored by their respective schools, and they are often provided a small stipend to help with their living and education expenses.

If you are interested in using an intern at the cafe, please feel free to contact the school directly…or simply stop in and talk to the intern's.
