Making sense out of a convoluted financial situation takes more than just accounting/finance knowledge. It also requires attention to detail, high-level problem solving, mathematics and statistics, and written/spreadsheet communication. Valuation credentials are critical to forensic accounting since all economic losses involve either temporary or permanent loss of value.
I am an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation with the American Society of Appraisers and a Certified Public Accountant and have served for five years as an officer of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers, most recently as President. I have taught accounting, finance, international accounting, and accounting ethics at Marquette University and the London School of Economics.
