Award-winning, conservatory-trained singer/songwriter Kyane Howland, created LakeMusic Studio where she teaches voice/guitar/songwriting. A Master’s in Writing, a Nursing Degree from MU, and time spent with dolphins make her approach, holistic, innovative, and caring. Scientists say we live in the midst of 400 billion galaxies. Living in starfields, invites us to inNOVAte, “to know that what we love and do it.”If we choose to create from the starfield in our heart, we can make today shine a thousand times brighter!

Since graduating from Marquette, I’ve lived to innovate and inspire. The connection between creativity and health led me to study communication with dolphins, to do music at the bedside of the dying, and to journal with clients as a way to journey through crucial moments of suicide, abuse, and addiction. As a muse, I want us to ‘fall into the place where everything is music” as the poet Rumi said.

What does it mean to “fall into the place where everything is music”? It’s time management at it’s best for it’s‘the whole time’. It’s an intuitive way of moving through the universe with others for an unforgettable effect. This has taken me to sing in diverse places such as Venetian Gondola Boats, the Pabst Theater, Public Radio, museums, hospitals, schools, cafes. I’ve surfed words at spoken word poetry events in NYC. Critics in the WestSide Voice said “she enchanted both the old and young”. I’ve made the CD’s “Into” and “Wild Lullabyes” as well as utube music video’s such as the human stop animation “AlleyOop, I love you.”

Having a Master’s in Writing combined with incredible curiosity, has helped me edit, write, and teach creativity. I established

LakeMusic Studio on the shores of the great lake I love and devote myself to people of all ages who wish to sing/play guitar/write songs. To find and free the voice, one must put the whole self in, as the Hokey Pokey advises.

I visit BookWorm Gardens as, Mz. Tree, creating community through music and movement with families. I like to inspire kids to eat sugarsnap peas and to ‘zigzag, dogwag, tag, you’re it, pick up the bag before the wind gets it”. As Mz. Tree, I celebrate the mysterious which Einstein said is of vital importance. If we brave the mystery in each other’s eyes, we’ll make something wonderful happen.
