Sheboygan- Herbert V. Kohler has missed only one of our Christmas parties in 30 years, and that was because of a hip replacement. Testimony to a lovely event has become one of Sheboygan’s most gracious venues to bring in the Christmas Season.
This year, the Jake’s Cafe Christmas Open House drew nearly 300 guests in what turned out to be a fabulous gathering! The event provides the opportunity for the Jake’s members, families, friends and guests to engage with the larger Sheboygan community, share a little good cheer and maybe even exchange a few good ideas.
Our Christmas music was provided by “The Big Life” with David and Danika Williamson not to mention incredible backups on bass, fiddle and drums. Wow! They will be releasing a new CD soon, so stay tuned:-) But that was just the beginning….we also shared a tasty collection of craft beers by Eighth Street Ale Haus, a spectacular variety of fine wines by Denaro Wine Consultants, and a highly creative gourmet appetizer menu by Matenaer Catering. “We served over 500 stuffed mushrooms, 400 caprese skewers, 600 chicken satays, 60 grilled gourmet pizzas with 7 different recipes, 200 beet/goat cheese appetizers, 300 bacon wrapped stuffed dates and 2 chaffing dishes or spinach artichoke dip”, said Rebecca Fralik, owner and head chef. Not to mention over 500 beautifully Christmas cookies from our members.
The event was fully sponsored by the members of the Jake’s Cafe Creative Community which included John and Kate Miller, John Esch
